Relating to Your Parent With Dementia
I'm so excited to share with you something I've been working on!
Having been a daughter of a parent (my mom) with dementia, not being the primary caregiver and, instead, being more of an advocate for my mom along the journey...I've decided I want to help women like me. It's a unique position to be in - I lived across the country from my parents but I loved my mom so much and wanted to be there for my mom AND my family as we all went through this. I was the one trying to stay one step ahead so that we could know how to be most supportive and helpful.
Along the way, I collected lots of important wisdom about how to relate to and advocate for our parent when they have dementia and for a while I was sending around a Google Doc to people with a list of tips and suggestions.
I got such great feedback that I decided to make it prettier and turn it into something that could be shared more widely and freely.
Here it is! Please feel free to share this with anyone you know who may benefit!
